PROMENADE

A perfect showstarter. Composed for piano in 1874 by Modest Mussorgsky, as a part of his “Pictures at an exhibition”. The work was a tribute to his friend Viktor Hartmann’s artworks. “Promenade” appears in various versions, and “describes” walking between the paintings. Arranged for trumpet solo, brass ensemble and concert band. Soloist and ensemble can be located somewhere away from the stage. For example behind the audience, in different corners etc.
