André Caplet

2. movement from “Suite Persane”

$52.00

Categories:
Nihawend is the second movement of André Caplét’s “Suite Persane”, originally composed for double wind quintet. The title refers to the ancient Persian city and battlefield of Nahavand.
The movement is an emotional voyage through calmness and temper.
The key of the middle part is natural B (H) major. Some of the instruments (the Bb- and Eb ones) play the middle part in the enharmonic Cb major, to avoid too many sharps in the transposed scores.
